DJ Global Wave Inc. to partner with Water Polo Quebec

Worldwide, October 6, 2014 - The sports management company DJ Global Wave officially announces its partnership with Water Polo Quebec (FWPQ) in order to jointly organize the first Haba Waba North America Festival to take place in Montreal on July 9-12, 2015. The Haba Waba festival is currently a highly successful yearly event held in Italy that combines sport, family fun and education.

The event in Montreal will be the first time the festival is held outside of Europe, but will follow the same basic goals and objectives: to create a mini Olympics-style experience for 12 U & 10U categories made up of boys, girls & co-ed teams and characterized by a fun, festive atmosphere and various forms of entertainment.

“We are happy and honored to have a partner like Water Polo Quebec, who has recognized the value of the Haba Waba Festival project and the importance of bringing the event to Montreal, Canada, and North America as a whole. The importance of developing and increasing a base of young athletes and engaging them in sport is huge, and we are hoping that other cities and entities in North American will recognize this soon as well“, says Global Wave President Dragan Jovanovic.

The Haba Waba International festival is currently the most visible and important water polo event for children ages 6-11 and this year attracted around 1,380 young athletes hailing from five continents. DJ Global Wave hopes to eventually achieve similar success with its festival in North America. Says DJ Global Wave partner & 4x Olympian Tony Azevedo, “for our first Montreal event, we are aiming to bring in around 40 teams from all over Canada and the US. And this is only the beginning— we really believe the excitement about the festival will spread to other parts of our continent and work to strengthen our sport in this hemisphere.”
