Barceloneta have won their eleventh Copa del Rey (Spanish cup) over the weekend beating Mataro Quadis 11-5 in the final on Sunday. It marks the third consecutive cup win and seventh of the last nine editions of the Spanish cup final weekend for the reigning Spanish and European champions. Mataro Quadis however looked to put up quite a fight in the opening phase of the game before the favourites grabbed control in the second quarter and after the main break marched on to the seemingly comfortable victory. Felipe Perrone and Marc Roca topped the scorers list netting 3 each. Mehdi Marzouki produced the same offence for the runners-up.
