Croatia: Primorje takes 2-1 finals lead




Jug still led by 2 goals going into the final quarter but could not hold on to it as Primorje came away with a 9-8 win in the Croatian play-offs finals game 3 in Rijeka on Saturday to take an important 2-1 lead in the best-of-5 series. Primorje goalie Frano Vican came out big in the game's final seconds denying attempts on man-up from Nikola Janovic and Miho Boskovic as he almost single-handedly secured the win for the home team. Petar Muslim (pictured) led all scorers with 3 for the winners while Marko Macan, Nikola Janovic and Paulo Obradovic netted 2 each for Jug. The series now shift back to Dubrovnik where on Wednesday game 4 will be played.
