17th Asian Games Incheon, South Korea Dream Park Aquatics Center: Japan, Kazakhstan expected group winners























The Asian Games men's water polo tournament are down to the quarterfinals. On Saturday the last preliminary round matches were played with Japan, who had the day off, and Kazakhstan as the expected group winners and thus qualified for the semi-finals. On Monday four more teams will battle to join them in the final four of the tournament. Singapore, after falling to defending champs Kazakhstan 9-20 on Saturday will now face China who defeated Kuwait 4-18, in the crossing matches on Monday. Meanwhile Kuwait faces hosts South Korea after they rolled past Hong Kong 15-6 on Saturday. The losers of the quarterfinals will play for 5th place on Tuesday and the winners advance to the semifinals, to be played on the same day.

Saturday, 27 September:

Kuwait vs. China 4-18 (0-5, 2-5, 2-5, 0-3)
South Korea vs. Hong kong 15-6 (6-3, 3-1, 3-2, 3-0)
Singapore vs. Kazakhstan 9-20 (0-7, 2-4, 4-4, 3-5)

Monday, 29 September:

15.00: Singapore vs. China - Match 25
17.00: South Korea vs. Kuwait - Match 26

Tuesday, 30 September:


15.00: L25 vs. L26 - 5th/6th place

Semifinals:

17.00: 1A vs. W25 - SF1
19.00: 1B vs. W26 - SF2

Wednesday, 1 October:

14.00: LSF1 vs. LSF2 - 3rd/4th place
16.00: WSF1 vs. WSF2 - 1st/2nd place
