Toni Esteller to coach Slovakia

Toni Esteller is the new men's national head coach of Slovakia, both parties announced this week. The former Spanish men's national team head coach and longtime employee of C.N. Barcelona is expected to lead the Slovaks to their first European championships berth since Malaga 2008 as they are entering the 2016 European championships qualification campaign. Esteller and the Slovak federation agreed that he will continue directing his club Barcelona and will travel to Slovakia for training and during periods of increased international activity. The agreement initally was made for the qualification phase but will be continued in case of qualification for the 2016 European championships, to be played in Belgrade, Serbia in January, 2016. His first official matches with the Slovak national team will be played in the upcoming 2014-2015 FINA World League Europe preliminary campaign starting in November.
